Yes, You Can Wear White After Labor Day

Bachelorette Party Shopping for the Plus Size Bride

I suspected from the day I started shopping for an engagement party dress that finding white outfits for all of my pre-wedding events was going to be difficult. Spoiler alert: I was right. I purchased about 17 different dress options for my bridal shower and returned all but one of them. I’m still on the hunt for something to wear to my rehearsal dinner. (My dream is a show-stopping white jumpsuit — I’ve already ordered and returned about 6.)

Shopping for my bachelorette party was no piece of cake, I spent a good amount of time hunting down white party outfits. Luckily, I knew exactly what I wanted, and pretty successfully found it!

Long Sleeve Lace Romper (size XS-4X) / Lace Fringe Romper (similar, 1X-3X) / Sequin Wrap Dress (size 14-28, similar here or here) / Sequin Bodycon Dress (similar here or here) / Lace Bikini (size S-XXL) / White Lace One Piece (similar, 1X-4X)

Friday Night

A Classy White Romper

Since Friday was our travel day, we planned a very chill night on Frenchmen street; nothing too crazy since Saturday night was the night to be wild. I’m glad we planned it that way, because my flight was delayed, two other girls’ flights were delayed, and one flight was cancelled. Half an hour of bad Dallas weather set us back almost four hours! We rolled with it, though. The girls who arrived to the Airbnb first got supplies, decorated, and picked up dinner one their way home for everyone. We ended up just hanging out at the Airbnb since we had an early morning planned the next day.

I found this lacy fringe sleeve romper on Poshmark, originally from ASOS. I ordered it on a whim on night after making a few Poshmark sales of my own. I wasn’t feeling too hopeful about it – I thought it would best be suited for a beach trip – but when I put it on, it was so cute for any time! Here’s a similar lace one.

I also happened upon an Etsy shop that makes bridal party robes, pajamas, and rompers and found this bridal “sleep” romper that is honestly perfect for a night out. This is the one I was planning on wearing Friday night – I’m sad I didn’t get to wear it, but it’s currently my rehearsal dinner outfit backup. The shop is calls Robes By Silk and More, and she custom makes all of her bridal rompers, pajamas, and robes.

Saturday Night

Bring on the Sequins

Last Christmas season, I quickly found out that the time to capitalize on sequin outfits is right before NYE. Stores had so many sequin options for the upcoming new year. Finding sequins in white, however, was a difficult feat. Finally, I found some from Charlotte Russe for only $25!

I never ended up wearing this beauty so I’m selling it on Poshmark! Size 3X and tag is in tact.

White the dress fits me well, it was completely bodycon which is a style I’m not a huge fan of. I’m still trying to get used to dresses that aren’t forgiving in the stomach area. I was fully prepared to wear this dress and get used to being a bit uncomfortable … until I found this gorgeous white sequin wrap dress from Eloquii a few weeks ago! (Most sizes on Eloquii’s wrap dress are sold out, but I’ve found some similar ones here or here… the latter of which Summer wore on the night she got engaged!)

I felt much more comfortable in this wrap dress, got so many compliments on Bourbon Street, and felt like a princess!

Sunday Swimwear

For the Pool Party That Never Was

We had intended to have a little pool time but between the madness that is Labor Day weekend in NOLA and our schedule being thrown off, we never made it. I was prepared, though! Finding a plus size white swimsuit that was flattering was also a very daunting task. I first found this gorgeous swimsuit from Forever 21… but my torso was much, much too long for it. This is the hilarious photo I sent to Summer while trying it on.

Next up, Summer found these adorable bikinis on Amazon that came in sizes S-XXL. I was not convinced that the XXL would fit on my body, but here we are after wearing them together on 3 different beach trips! This one gave gnarly tan lines after a lot of time out in the sun, and was kind of a nip slip waiting to happen (I’m a 44G, for the record), but they served us well.

Eloquii saved the day, again, with this white one piece. (It’s sold out now, but here’s a similar one piece!) I am not used to wearing something so plunge-y but it was so cute and held my boobs very well. I wore this swimsuit with Summer a few weeks ago when we were in Destin. This is the swimsuit I brought on the trip, and would have worn if we’d made it to the pool.

I’m so glad I managed to find all of these great options for my bachelorette party last weekend, but the hunt for plus size white outfits isn’t over until September 21. Anyone have any recommendations for a rehearsal dinner outfit?
